My vision drives Healing Home Foods, and centers on my quest to combine nutrition and taste to produce foods that indulge body and soul. Through years of experimentation, while constantly educating myself about raw food preparation, I have experimented widely with flavors and textures in the dehydration process, as well as in baking, to try and produce something totally unexpected and distinctive.

Before becoming a mom, and launching Healing Home Foods, I spent 10 years working on Wall Street. Most of that time, I worked as a hedge fund analyst, and eventually started my own fund with two partners. My role was to determine whether a company was worthy of our firm’s investment. I was a digger. I tried to find an angle that no one else had, and figure out if a company’s products would sell.

My investment experience helped to drive my own start-up, but my business is just part of my endless quest to find ways to nurture my family – a quest that began with health crises for my son and husband.

Since the earliest days of Shelley’s kitchen experiments, I have been her biggest champion. As we began to think that Shelley’s desire to help our own family had potential as a business, I became the weekend face of Healing Home Foods at farmers markets, while pursuing my own week-day career in equity sales. As of 2014, however, I am an HHF advocate full-time.

Drawing on my 25 years developing relationships on Wall Street, I am now working to expand the distribution of Healing Home Foods products, and serve the needs of our existing customers. I have spent my whole career developing and retaining productive client relationships, and building a book of business, but it is a whole new feeling to be doing this for and with my family, and I look forward to every day.

It is a thrill to see our family’s venture turn into a growing business, but more exciting still is to hear from the growing number of customers who want to share the wholesome gluten-free foods we feed our own family, and who support our mission to use the best and be the best in taste and quality.
